The University of Florida’s Student Government Productions has made your wildest musical dreams come true once again. Fondly known throughout the community as SGP, the student-run organization is bringing in what is expected to be a fantastic show by none other than hip-hop heavyweight 2 Chainz and up-and-coming rapper Action Bronson. According to SGP co-chairman Jonathan Schonfeld, attendants can expect the show to be exciting, bold and, of course, truuuuuu.

The highly anticipated performance will take place on Thursday, Nov. 13 in the O’Dome. 2 Chainz and Action Bronson are set to deliver a memorable show to 6,000-person audience beginning at 7:30 p.m. The two artists are sure to display their unique styles and demonstrate just how “different” they are.

2 Chainz, if you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years, is a self-made hip-hop mogul whose chart-topping tracks, such as “I’m Different,” “No Lie” and “Birthday Song,” never fail to get the crowd fired up.

Formerly known as Tity Boi, several of 2 Chainz songs have made it to the top 50 of the Billboard “Hot 100″ charts. In 2012, 2 Chainz was signed to Def Jam, making him a label mate of industry veterans such as Kanye West, Ludacris and Big Sean. Over his career, the Georgia rapper has demonstrated his lyrical prowess and ability to keep fans steadily rapping along to his verses, establishing himself as a household name in the hip-hop game.

Action Bronson is a rising artist from Queens, New York. Action Bronson, whose real name is Arian Asllani, worked as a gourmet chef before dabbling in music, which explains his tendency to reference food in songs. Signed to Vice Records and Atlantic Records, Action Bronson cites Cam’ron, Mobb Deep, UGK and Wu-Tang Clan as his major influences. Fans often compare his style to Ghostface Killah’s of Wu-Tang. Action Bronson was nominated “Rookie of the Year” in the 2013 BET Awards, has released several successful mix tapes and is set to release his debut studio album “Mr. Wonderful” this year.

“I’m a huge fan of (Action Bronson’s) music, cooking show on vice.com, and personality,” said Schonfeld via an email interview. “I think his performance is going to be really memorable and entertaining.”

A prominent student organization at UF, SGP Music and Entertainment was established in 1969 with the mission of bringing “a well-balanced variety of entertainment to the University of Florida and the Gainesville community.” SGP caters to the diverse tastes of students and residents by engaging in active communication and doing in-depth research in order to #GiveEmWhatTheyWant. It offers low-priced student tickets and reasonably priced tickets for all others who wish to attend its productions.

“Our main focus this year is to liven up the Gainesville music scene and the UF community by giving students what they want,” Schonfeld said. “We want UF students to have memorable experiences at our shows, and that’s what we’re striving for every day.”

Tickets can be purchased on ticketmaster.com or at Gate 1 in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Box Office. Students can bring up to four UFIDs to purchase tickets for friends. Student prices are $15 for floor access and level one and $10 for levels two and three.

Non-student prices are $35 for floor access and level one and $25 for levels two and three.
