The packed lunches with my zebra cakes and cute notes from my mom stopped at 12 years old. Cafeteria pizza was more appealing.
My “period candy” from my boyfriend is no longer a thing I get after 24 menstrual cycles of dating him. I guess 24 bags of Hershey kisses were taking a dent in his beer budget.
The care packages stopped coming in after my freshman fall semester. Apparently, my relatives decided I didn’t need Clif bars to study anymore.
But here’s the deal: I need all these things. I’m not functioning as well in adulthood without my free lip smackers and gummy bears.
