Calling all Gainesville sound junkies… How do you like your music?

Hard-styled? Green and with House? Funky and Fried? Or, perhaps, poached to Progressive perfection? Well fear not, because no matter how you like it, Over Easy Fest will satisfy any taste for tone and tune.

Gainesville’s first ever Over Easy Fest will be held at The Jam on June 29th from 4 p.m. to midnight. On the day before we sell our souls to the Summer B devil, Over Easy Fest invites the well-behaved and depraved residents of this city to spend the day soaking in sunny summer vibes and enjoying unique musical performances. Although Gainesville is a party place with an eclectic craving for sound as well as a popular pit stop for rising artists, this festival featuring premiere producers is taking the scene to a whole new level.

“The Over Easy Fest is so much more than just a Sunday Funday. It’s a creative outlet for countless artists who all bring something unique to the table. Reggae in the afternoon will shift into the summer dance vibes that will get your feet moving. As the day moves along, the tempo picks up, and as the sun starts to set The Jam will transform into something unlike anywhere else in Gainesville… you will just have to see for yourself,” according to event coordinator and producer Les Voss.

Over Easy Fest is a cutting-edge concept, compiling a collection of artists who are confident enough to break the mold and create a one-of-a-kind performance unmarked by inhibition and typical trends. The entertainment, currently a line-up of 15+ artists, is a combination of DJs, rappers, bands and producers, performing on both indoor and outdoor stages. Each of the stages will have its own distinctive atmosphere in order to enhance the musical experience of the audience. With genres such as glitch hop, tropical house, house, house and bass, trap, electro house, electro jam, deep house, techno, tech, future, progressive, trance, reggae, rap, and funky tribal electro, there truly is something for everyone.

Les Voss believes that Over Easy Fest will help to improve the Gainesville music scene even further, describing it as such: “I’m treating it as a blank slate, and encouraging every artist involved to come prepared to be unique. This event is a drastic shift from the dry cut standards of going out to the bar or to the club. That is where creativity dies.”

Although the venue boasts its own collection of visually engaging art, Over Easy Fest will be bringing in sculptures and structures from local artists, such as the Re-Purpose Project’s Emily Bonani. Gator Sound and Lighting will be providing their technical prowess, alongside Sarasota artist RaeF who will be heading the interactive 3D projection mapping onto the creative structures and historic brick walls of The Jam. Over Easy Fest is designed to generate greater ascending ambiance while bringing music lovers together in a groovy, good time environment.

If you’re concerned about your health and sustenance during these eight hours of funk, there will be exotic choices from various food trucks, such as Pelican Bros and Heart and Seoul, which are available for your drunken binge-eating pleasure. In regards to drink options, The Jam offers an assortment of draft and bottled beers, local craft brews, wines, and Sake-based cocktails.

If you like a laid-back crowd, craft beer, and your food on wheels, Over Easy Fest may be the best way to spend your Sunday. This is an opportunity to stimulate your senses with exceptional effects, chomp your little gator heart out, discover new sounds and genres, and most of all, get your groove on. Feel the music and use this day to be free and easy.
