This past week, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame cheerfully declared the newest bands and solo artists to be inducted into the prestigious assemblage of music legends. This prominent ceremony marks a respected milestone for any band or member, and remains one of the highest honors and accomplishments that a band can achieve.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame commenced on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, affirming nine exceedingly reputable artists and granting them a noble spot amid the array of renowned music folklores.
Kiss and Nirvana, two undeniably riveting bands, are known for crafting alternative realms of rock music that ultimately propelled them into stardom, forever changing the face of rock and roll. Both of these historic bands showcase a timeline of successes and feats that trumps most and followed a path that led them to one of the highest forms of honor in the industry.

However, just like you’d imagine with any egotistical rock divas, the show didn’t go without some quarreling and gloating. Kiss, who was eligible to join the Hall of Fame back in 1999, has been disregarded from inductions until this year. Despite the all this, guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine (and presently a guest artist touring with the E Street Band) commended Kiss for their hefty impact on rock and roll, and for their influence among a multitude of artists and fans worldwide.
Nirvana, however, just became eligible this past year and immediately found themselves in the mix of all the righteous indications. The band was inducted by Michael Stipe, front man of R.E.M. Being a respected artist himself, Stipe praised Nirvana, labeling the grunge band’s sound as “a sweet and beautiful but fed-up fury coupled with howling vulnerability.”
Also welcomed into the Hall of Fame was Peter Gabriel, already inducted with the band Genesis, Cat Stevens (now known as Yusuf Islam), Linda Ronstadt, Hall & Oats and the E Street Band joining their front man, Bruce Springsteen, who found himself inducted in 1999. Together Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band joined forces and gave an earth-shaking performance that blew the roof off the Barclays Center.

Kurt Cobain, front man of the talented Nirvana, unfortunately couldn’t be presented with the award after taking his own life on April 5, 1994 just over 20 years ago. Although Cobain lost himself in the chaos of life and rests peacefully today, his poetry and rock altering sound will viciously live on forever.
This year, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame did not fail to enchant rock fans worldwide, fusing together a fresh collection of cherished artists with a cluster of preceding respected rock gods in creating an unforgettable ceremony and highly enthusiastic show.
