Although we love to view the world in absolutes, things are seldom black and white. Heroes have skeletons in their closets and assholes secretly donate money to the ASPCA commercials with Sarah Mclachlan. Okay, maybe not.
But the point is that the world is a complex place, full of moral ambiguity, double standards and mixed feelings.
So we have taken the task upon ourselves to bring back the epic binary of “good” versus “bad,” “right” versus “wrong,” and “virtuous versus “evil.”
We humbly present to you: Asshole and Hero of the week.
Asshole(s): Teenage Douchebags

Via: weknowmemes.com
Amid all the ALS ice bucket madness, a group of Ohio teenagers decided it would be a good idea to pour shit, piss and spit all over an unknowing 15-year-old autistic boy who thought he was participating in the challenge.
The video, which was filmed on the boy’s cellphone, has since gone viral after the perpetrators posted it to Instagram. A collective outrage has ensued, including several celebrities offering rewards for finding the people responsible.
Apparently, the authorities have identified said assholes.
If only we practiced Hammurabi’s code in today’s society. Then the assholes could get shit, piss and spit poured on their heads, only to have the video blasted all over social media.
If only.
Hero(s): Institute of Robotic Surgery

Although India’s healthcare ranks below that of many other nations, major breakthroughs are taking place in the country’s field of robotic surgery. This is proving extremely fruitful as India’s massive population and subsequent poverty contribute to a wide variety of illness.
Robot surgery is still technically in its beginning stages in India with around 30 locations offering it, but it is quickly gaining recognition. It is the only country in the Asian Pacific performing an innovative procedure called complete robotic aortobifemoral bypass.
If all goes well, robotics will revolutionize the face of India’s healthcare system and will reach those who, in the past, were unable to receive proper medical attention.
