Glory Days Presents is keeping the reggae spirit alive for Spring Break this Sunday by bringing Santa Cruz reggae/rock outfit The Expendables to High Dive.

With their early January release of a seventh studio album “Sand in the Sky,” the four-piece band has been on the annual Winter Blackout Tour across the country with Ballyhoo!

The new album, released off of Stoopid Records, in addition to the tour has made for a busy new year for the longtime friends. Not to be confused with the super-cast action movie franchise, The Expendables still deliver punchy kicks and are always throwing fists in the air.

Wavering neither towards rock or reggae exclusively, the band has managed to attract a niche fan base and has remained as an underground act within the genre.

Mostly self-produced in the beginnings, The Expendables found the most success with the 2004 release of the “Gettin’ Filthy” album. With their most popular songs, “Bowl for Two” and “Sacrifice,” they solidified a signature sound.

As for “Sand in the Sky”, it tends towards the softer rock side. Mastered to perfection by renowned producer, Paul Leary, the collection is somewhat of a newer touch on their older styles.

The first song off of the album, “Starry Night,” is available for free download.

As for the concert, tickets are available here and doors open at 8 p.m.
