Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the release of their critically acclaimed album “Legend,” the Kingston crew plays in familiar territory during their U.S. scheduled tour dates this year.
Courtesy of Glory Days Presents, The Wailers will perform Thursday a two-hour set — complete with band leader Aston “Family Man” Barrett and the 2010 addition, lead singer, Dwayne “Danglin” Anglin — at High Dive.

The Wailers, originally founded by reggae gods Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, has since been altered since Marley’s death in 1981 to include the remaining members of Bob Marley & The Wailers. Barrett and guitarist Junior Marvin led the band before Marvin’s split in 2008.
They are eager to remind audiences of the legendary reggae hits that revolutionized and popularized the genre worldwide with their Legend Tour. With Bob Marley, the band has sold 250 million albums worldwide and finally seen a Top 10 Billboard spot in 2014 with the re-release of “Legend.”
They have performed with the likes of Stevie Wonder, the Fugees, Sting and Carlos Santana. Their music has arguably become the lifeblood of the reggae genre and the anthem for the country of Jamaica.

Transcending time, their music has also become a beacon of peace and love for generations to come.
Historically, the band played a radical role in the political civil war in Jamaica. Together with Marley, their music was integral in making a statement of peace during the One Love Peace Concert held in 1978. Hopefully with this re-release of Marley’s greatest hits and extensive tour, the healing and moving powers of his music will live on through generations.
The words and melodies of the group have continued to validate what millions of people consider to be pure and true. This is truly a performance that cannot be missed.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are available on Ticket Web or locally at Hear Again Music, High Tides and High Dive box office
