The Jones: New Hours, New Events, Same Old School Vibe

The Jones has been, and forever will be, a Gainesville staple.

With rustic chic decor and a menu diverse enough to satisfy vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike, The Jones is a quintessential neighborhood hangout.

Over the past nine years, it’s been packed seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but now, it’s time for a change.

The Jones is adopting new hours and an awesome new plan for community engagement.

They’re now open from Sunday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. That leaves the evenings from Sunday to Wednesday wide open for events.

Though the details haven’t been released yet, there’s been talk of craft cocktail classes with The Jones’ award-winning bartender Sonny Wallace, special dinners with wine and cocktail pairings, startup workshops and quirky community mixers.

“We want our events to bring all different kinds of people together to relax and have a good time,” said The Jones’ owner Gabriel Garner.

If you’re worried that you’re going to be jonesin’ for dinner at The Jones (see what we did there?) Sunday through Wednesday, fear not. The chefs are working on revamping the dinner menu so that weekend dinners are deliciously innovative eats.

With the hip outdoor patio, spacious indoor seating and laidback atmosphere, The Jones has the potential to be a killer event space.

So, keep an eye on their Facebook page and prepare for nights of specials, spirits and spontaneous celebrations at The Jones.
