Aura You Ready for AURA 2016?

It’s time for another party at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, ringing in the 7th annual Aura Music Festival!

Aura Music Group has a full plate of musical talent for us.  Over 30 bands ranging from eclectic jazz, to improvisational jam, to straight up funk. The festivities kick off Thursday, March 3 and run restlessly till the break of day March 5.

The park has a lot in store for everyone. Offering 50 yoga sessions, begin your day with some meditative healing, hike it down River Road to relax and cool your jets by the Suwannee River and then spend the entire day boogying on down!

This year’s lineup is huge. Headlining Friday evening, Thievery Corporation returns to the park to spread downtempo, uplifting melodies through the cool Suwannee night. A perfect representation of the variety planned for this weekend, Saturday’s headliner The Disco Biscuits will let loose, firing up the party! With a massive mind-blowing lighting rig, riveting and spine-chilling sound, the Biscuits will flip your world upside down. Be ready to kick it in full gear for a gnarly 3-hour set on the amphitheater stage!

Supporting acts include your Suwannee alumni, Florida favorites and a whole lot more. Jazz-fusion, Grammy-winning artists Snarky Puppy will perform on the amp and following them up on the porch stage, the newest funk craze The Main Squeeze will get everyone moving. Suwannee alumni and Florida’s very own The Heavy Pets will do another special tribute, this time to the 80s, featuring an excellent horn section, Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman of Trey Anastasio Band.

The music never stops. If you haven’t had enough, the electronic music fans can head to the Silent Disco where DJs will be hosted until the wee hours of the morning. Suwannee Silent Disco staples will include Gainesville’s Bells and Robes, Jacksonville’s’ MZG and Vlad the Inhaler. And for the first time ever, Suwannee welcomes the ENO Lotus Lounge, where you can lounge up and groove out in this circular structure centralized around a DJ booth.

Everything’s in line for another remarkable Aura Music Festival! If you’re behind, catch up! Tickets are still available, priced 199$ at the gate.
