New App, Unity One Global, Tackle’s World Issues

Have you ever felt like some of the biggest global problems are overwhelming with few, if any, concrete steps to making an impact?
Individuals are constantly affected by these problems with no guarantee for a long-term solution. That’s where Unity One Global (U1) comes into play.
U1 is an app targeted at solving global issues through social good. According to Unity One Global’s website, the app has 10 impact areas which include clean water, poverty, healthcare, humanitarian relief, pollution, human rights, education, food waste, wildlife conservation and social entrepreneurship.
U1 is a new way of bringing people together worldwide to help recognize and resolve serious global issues in society. By using U1, individuals around the world can choose to volunteer and/or donate.
Founders Prash Pavagadhi and Chuck Sullivan plan to help provide for people less fortunate.
“We both feel blessed with the rich experiences that life has afforded us, and we wanted to play our part in giving back to those who are not as fortunate as us,” Pavagadhi said. “When we take our applied knowledge and everything that we’ve learned in the technology area and all the other areas that we’ve worked in, that’s where Unity One comes about.”
As Florida not-for-profit charity and a 501c3 registered charity with the IRS, no one can legally own the organization, he said. In other words, it belongs to the people.
U1 is a community of people worldwide who truly want to make a change in the world.
“Beyond being a charity, we are a movement of people who want to see change, and that change is achieved by millions of people micro-donating to causes which matter to them,” Pavagadhi said.
Currently, charities are relying on large donations from a limited population. But U1’s goal is to change this, Pavagadhi explained.
“U1 is a strategic program, not just a vehicle to raise money through donations,” Pavagadhi said.
Often times after giving money to a charity, a door must navigate through a charity website in hopes of finding updates or information on where the money is being spent. Fortunately, U1’s platform provides updates in real-time using social media, making it convenient for the donor to track their impact.
“It’s important for us to keep the process, as well as the organization, pure and transparent,” Sullivan said.
However, because monetary giving is not always the only answer to these global issues, volunteering to create change is also celebrated at U1.
“No one man has enough money to pay for this,” Sullivan said. “So throwing money at a problem just doesn’t solve the problem.”
The founders’ vision consists of a world where giving micro donations to high-impact charities becomes a common activity from people across various socioeconomic statuses, instead of relying solely on just a few large donations each month.
U1 not only connects people who feel strongly about a particular issue in society, but it targets these issues head-on without having to rely on or be dependent on governments or other organizations to find a solution. According to U1’s website, its actions are those of unity, unlimitedness, freedom and love.
Within the next decade, U1 plans to help make sure each individual has access to healthcare, communities anywhere in the world have disaster and humanitarian relief within 24 hours, pollution is reduced worldwide and education is offered to everyone.
Care to get involved? The best way to start is by downloading the app, which is available in the App Store or Google Play. If you’re interested in learning more about the U1 Global movement visit www.UnityOne.Global and check out these neat videos:
