Getting Buck’n Wild at Arcade Bar with Anthony Verdi

Arcade Bar hosted a Big Buck seasonal tournament on May 22, and Anthony Verdi—a Buck Wild pro—claimed the $25 bar tab. Verdi has been living in Florida for fourteen years; he’s a pocket t-shirt guru, and the bassist in local punk band Heat Rash.
He’s not big into video games, but he’s been very successful in keeping his Big Buck high score at the Arcade Bar. It’s as simple as picking up a plastic gun and shooting a bunch of deer, moose, and even beavers. Literally. But Verdi seems to have a talent for it. He’s got the highest score in town.
Verdi is more than just an excellent sharpshooter.
His clothing company on Etsy, Antapparel, features his custom-made pocket t-shirts. He hand-sews every pocket from pizza slices, cute cats with cute faces and even Dee Reynolds smoking a cigarette from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He’s been making them in town for about three-and-a-half years now. He was somewhat of a t-shirt peddler back in the day too.
“There was a good while, about two years ago, where I was biking around town with a backpack of shirts. I was going to different bars dropping off shirts,” said Verdi. “Kind of like a t-shirt drug dealer.”

When he showed up to the tournament, he wasn’t sure if a lot of people knew about it. But when he’s not busy with the band or working on shirts, he enjoys hanging out at the Arcade Bar. His favorite drink at the bar is a shot of whiskey and a Coors Light.
“It’s usually quiet and the prices are great,” he said.
“If you want to play a game here, they have awesome choices. Every bartender and every door guy is great here, and the owners are really good people,” said Verdi.
