Local Band Tiny Farm to Celebrate Debut Album with Free Show

A fresh new Gainesville band, Tiny Farm, released their first single a month ago and it’s still stuck in my head. “Berry Neurotic Tinder” is short song about online dating that is immediately catchy and upbeat, inviting the listener to sing along.
Clocking in at just over two minutes, it serves more as a demo for what the band has coming than a track release, but of course that’s written right on the cover of the EP: “Tiny Farm – Tiny Demo”
The three-piece is made of Tim Robson on bass and the Randall brothers, Jarred and Zach, on guitar and drums respectively. Jarred is the lead vocalist and the hand behind much of the band’s writing.
The rest of the album is expected to be released May 12 and is accompanied by a free show on the same day. Those looking to try-before-you-buy can catch Tiny Farm at The Atlantic tonight with Ceramicats and Average Friend to promote the release. No cover—just walk in like you own the place and enjoy one of Gainesville’s newest names in music.
Tim and the Randall brothers chose Black Bear Studios to record Tiny Demo— a reliable studio with a solid reputation and a favorite for recording debut albums when a band is still figuring out their mojo.
Recording at Black Bear, and specifically working with Ryan Williams, almost always teaches you more about your own music and provides inspiration that you didn’t know that you needed.
At the risk of running too far off-topic, you should probably listen to everything that comes out of Black Bear Studios as a rule. The place attracts interesting music for some reason— another reason to grab a copy of Tiny Demo.
Self-described as “unapologetic D.I.Y.” and “oddball pop,” Tiny Farm really does seem to focus on being fun and the vibe they pull off is honest and cheerful.
When they performed at First Magnitude Brewing Company‘s Brewlympics and Creative Bash, they took pride in being the goofiest band on the lineup and we could probably use more of that in the local music scene.
Check out Tiny Farm’s single, “Berry Neurotic Tinder” above and hear their music for free and in person at The Atlantic tonight.
