It Isn’t a Trap: San Holo at Simon’s

Alliance Events & Lucid Nightlife is bringing San Holo on Saturday April 2nd, to Simon’s Night Club in downtown Gainesville.

A graduate of the Rotterdam Conservatory of Music; San Holo (Sander van Dijck) is a 25-year-old producer from the Netherlands who has radically surged in popularity since his 2014 remixes of Dr. Dre’s, ‘The Next Episode’, and Outkast’s, ‘Ms. Jackson,’.

San Holo started out studying and instructing guitar, but now weaves his skills into the electronic world. His debut remix series, ‘Don’t Touch the Classics,’ caught fire on SoundCloud, exposing his talent to nearly 140,000 new followers within just one year. He’s released LPs and singles with Spinnin’ Records, OWSLA and Monstercat. Still remaining unsigned, however, San Holo recently founded a record label with a high school friend/business partner called ‘Bitbird.’ The music promotion platform aims to shed light on unknown artists while releasing merchandise alongside.

This spring marks his return to the States for his ‘New Sky Tour.’ His internet presence is his main form of communication; so in good fashion, Holo and his Bitbird friends have uploaded tour videos to his YouTube channel if you’re trying to get a glimpse at the live experiences.

His music is incredibly immersive, transporting listeners through fictional narratives. The euphoric, uplifting melodies are cradled in deep, synth chords resulting in what people are loosely fitting under the ‘Future Bass,’ or ‘Trap,’ genres… although Holo has stated previously that he believes his genre is always changing.

Tickets are Available Through EventBrite. Doors open at 10:00 p.m.
