The Best Part-Time Job in Gainesville

Whether you’re wiping down sweaty mats at Southwest, waiting tables while tumbleweeds blow through your empty section or pouring vodka sodas at a local bar while a sorority girl in a Michael Kors watch screeches “Can you put a splash of lime in that?”, part-time jobs in college can be rough.
As a group who wholeheartedly understands the need for rent, extra beer money and a Study Edge membership, we’ve been searching for the perfect part-time job in Gainesville. That means no shitty tippers, bad hours, low pay, dumb uniforms or general annoyance on the job.
And we actually found it.
Say hello to Hyperlynx Media.
Hyperlynx is a fresh Gainesville startup that specializes in digital marketing through “link building” for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Basically, they get clients to show up higher in Google’s search results.
Hyperlynx is always looking for new brand managers, a part-time position that comes with $12 an hour, flexible hours and a kickass office culture (Yes, that means you are paid to chill on the Internet).
Brand managers pick their own hours and can work 25 percent of the time from home, Club West or a cozy coffee shop of their choosing.
Slim chance you’ll really want to leave the office though. Located between campus and downtown, it’s a stroll away from a cappuccino at Volta or a post-work burger at Loosey’s. It has a clean, modern feel with a ton of open space. (i.e. No dingy carpet, stuffy cubicles or stucco ceilings reminiscent of high school.) If you need a brain break, you can pop over to the lounge area for some alone time with the Xbox or GameCube.
In-office snacks and drinks are kept fully stocked and most weeks, the team goes out for lunch on the Hyperlynx tab.
Aesthetic and caloric perks aside, Hyperlynx is a place to grow professionally. Link building is a practice heavily founded in marketing, psychology, sales and communication, which means it’s chock full of unique challenges and a chance to learn valuable new skills.
The opportunities for growth and long-term experience make chopping chicken at Chipotle pale in comparison.
“We’re a data-driven company, and results (for better or for worse) are super clear and transparent,” said Hyperlynx Media founder Jon Cooper. “It’s super easy to identify if you’re a high performer and get rewarded accordingly.”
It’s time to throw in the towel (specifically the bus boy dish towel) and find a part-time job that doesn’t suck. Hyperlynx might just be the perfect fit.
Hyperlynx is looking for digital-savvy students who have excellent English communication skills, take pride in their work and can commit 20 hours a week. If you think you fit the bill, go forth and apply for the best part-time job in the 352.
