Politics are confusing. With a playing field this big, it’s hard to know where each of the 2016 presidential candidates stands on the issues.
But the choices these rich old people make directly impact the country we live in, so it’s important to be informed when the election rolls around in November of 2016.

Chris Christie’s Platform
EXPERIENCE: Former US Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2002 to 2008; current governor of New Jersey
ECONOMY
-Proposed a set of federal entitlements reforms including raising the eligibility age for Social Security and Medicare to 69 over several decades and increasing the costs for wealthier Americans
-Wants to simplify the tax code to three brackets and lower corporate taxes
GOVERNMENT SIZE
-Opposes the Common Care State Standards Initiative
OBAMACARE
-Called for its repeal and replacement but has not made any suggestions for a replacement
-As governor, he did accept the federal expansion of Medicaid that was part of Obamacare
FOREIGN POLICY
-Strongly supports Israel
-Wants to end current Iran nuclear talks
-Wants to expand the US military and send US troops to fight ISIS
-Believes President Putin of Russia would be more afraid of him than President Obama
IMMIGRATION
-Opposes a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants
-Supports in-state tuition for undocumented students
-Doesn’t think a wall would really do much to stop illegal immigrants
SOCIAL ISSUES
-Pro-choice; supports a Congressional bill banning most abortions after 20 weeks
-Wants to shift the Republican party to a greater emphasis on protecting all life, including addressing race and drug issues
SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
-Personally opposes but accepts the Supreme Court ruling as the law of the land
CLIMATE CHANGE
-Recognizes that climate change is real and that humans are responsible for part of it
-Supports the Keystone XL Pipeline and opposes restrictions on fracking and carbon emissions
GUN RIGHTS
-Opposes bans on assault weapons
-Wants to address the issue of gun violence by dealing with mental health issues better and have mental health records added to background checks during gun purchases
MARIJUANA
-Strongly opposes any form of legalization
-As governor, he reluctantly allowed for limited medical marijuana in New Jersey
CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
-Wants to reform bail to prioritize fairness and public safety
-Wants to replace drug offense incarceration with more drug rehabilitation programs
