Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville Kicks Off This Weekend

Jacksonville is calling for all head-bangers to drop what they’re doing and head to its city for Florida’s biggest rock festival.
Taking over Metropolitan Park April 25 and 26, Monster Energy Welcome to Rockville kicks off the World’s Loudest Month festival series with heavy-hitting favorites including Slipknot, Korn and Godsmack.
The festival celebrates its fifth anniversary with two days of rock on four stages with over 40 bands, along with autograph signings and interactive experiences. For pre- or post-mosh pit refreshments, Welcome to Rockville boasts a Monster Energy VIP area with beverage sampling, as well as local gourmet food trucks.
Music is slated to begin Saturday at 11:20 am. The first day’s lineup consists of Korn, two years removed from their latest album, “The Paradigm Shift.”
Korn rose to popularity with its unique sound and hits such as “Freak on a Leash.” The band will play at 9:35 p.m. Marilyn Manson will hit the stage at 8:20 p.m. with hits from both old albums that earned the group a cult-like following and songs from its recently-released album, The Pale Emperor. At 7:10 p.m., Grammy-award-winners Slayer will take over. The band has brought down the stage for over 30 years and are a treat for die-hard metal fans everywhere.

After quieting for the night, the noise returns at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday. The headliners for the day include Iowa’s finest: Slipknot. The band is known for their live performances and are promoting their newest album, “.5 They Grey Chapter.” At 9:20 p.m., look for the guys with jumpsuits and masks.
Godsmack brings their ass-kicking Boston attitude to the stage, and will perform hits like as “1000hp” from their latest release at 7:30 p.m. Rising to fame with the hit “Last Resort,” Papa Roach has become a household name in the rock community, and can be seen at 6:35 pm.
Performances are spread over four stages: the Monster Energy Main Stage, the Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Main Stage, The Reverbnation Stage powered by Hundred Handed and the Jagermeister Stage.
