We live in a transactional world.
From the daily debit swipe for goods and services to the daily exchange of emotions and conversation, we are always trading back and forth between each other.
Although it’s easy to sign your receipt and move on your way, GainesvilleScene wants to dig a little deeper. Behind the Scene, our new series, gives you a glimpse into the world of the amazing locals who make Gainesville the exceptional town it is.
Bob Tancig handcrafts fresh pasta at Vine, a local Gainesville bakery. He’s lived in Gainesville for more than 30 years, loves raviolis and is a climate change activist.
Favorite place to relax and unplug in Gainesville?
Ring park. I take my dog Admiral Jack Bowser there. It’s beautiful!
Best memory of the past year?
Well, there’s some crazy stuff here. Having fun with the other Vine-os. I have one, but I won’t say it. Let’s just say it was a staff party. We had a good time.
Do you have a bit of life philosophy that you can share with us?
Reality always wins. That’s it. What is, is and what is, is fine. It’s kind of a Buddhist thing. That comes up a lot in my life.
