Now that the New Year has rolled in and we have closed the chapter containing all of our wildest 2013 occurrences, it is time embark on new adventures and embrace another yearlong journey which is sure to be filled with unforgettable experiences and great new memories. For us music lovers out there, this means a fresh wave of music festivals, award shows, album releases and tour announcements. Holler!

Some of the prominent festivals we often catch ceaseless chatter about are once again right around the corner.  If you are hunting for a way to blow a few hundred of dollars in exchange for a euphoric weekend of singing and dancing away your stress, I highly advise you to purchase a ticket to one of these notorious festivals. Below is a list containing at least one festival per month, making it easy to schedule in at least one weekend of unadulterated, musical bliss this year. If you are worried about finding a pal to drag along with you, embrace your wanderlust and leave them behind — some of the most beautiful friendships come from the spontaneous strangers you’ll meet along your musical journey.

If the time commitment and hefty price tag of a festival poses a problem, have no fear! 2014 is filled with tons of touring musicians and album releases, so you can quench your musical thirst without bleeding out your bank account. Tour dates are available on artists’ websites, but to get you pumped, here’s are just a few of the artists/bands set to tour the country this year: Justin Timberlake, Pearl Jam, Avett Brothers, Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Doobie Brothers, Drake, John Mayer, Mumford and Sons,  Fleetwood Mac and Zac Brown Band. Also, stay on the lookout for multiple new album releases for 2014 – rumor has it there will be plenty. To name a few that dropped subtle hints of upcoming album releases: Of Mice and Men, Band of Horses, Rick Ross, The Fray, Foster the People, 311, Dierks Bently, Taking Back Sunday and a lost 80’s album from Johnny Cash.

With that said, here’s to a year full of satisfying your melody cravings, dancing sun-up to sundown with new friends and finding yourself somewhere in the midst of all the music and chaos.
