His bizarre statements always seem to disseminate headlines and provoke the public thought, but when rumors spread that The Louis Vuitton Don was quoted saying he was ‘the next Nelson Mandela’, it seemed that even Kanye West over stepped his habitual provocative boundaries.
Thankfully, the rumor was just a hoax that rapidly spread like wildfire across the Internet, immediately grasping the public eye and sending even his loyal fans into frenzy. Sadly, as far-fetched as the remark appeared to be, most folks weren’t shocked by the overly confident stars claim.
Kanye has been said to be one of the highest quoted iconic figures in the media, which makes utter sense considering his interpretations we all remember him making this past September in his BBC interview when he compared himself to ‘a god.’
While ‘a god’ is just one of the multitude of highly respected names he has bestowed upon himself alongside, ‘a king’, ‘Picasso’, and ‘Steve Jobs’, Kanye can’t be denied his theatrical talent.

The American songwriter and record producer released his sixth studio album Yeezus on June 18, 2013 and announced his 2013 tour in early September. West revealed he would be headlining his first solo tour in five years with the company of fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. Kanye’s Yeezus tour debuted on October 19th at KeyArena in Seattle, Washington and opened the floodgates to a much more dramaturgical version of Yeezy than we have grown accustomed to.
Apparently, his set encompasses a colossal mountain with a snow covered peak erected center stage that morphs at one point during the show into a massive volcano. The rap sensation can be seen fashioning a gold, sequined, full-face (think Mexican Lucha libre wrestling) mask for the majority of the show.
Reviews claim that the tour didn’t fail to exceed the expectations of Kanye’s fan base, attaining high anticipations for the tour after the hip-hop recording artist pledged it would be entirely epic far before he seized the stage in October.
As extravagant as his tour is acclaimed to be, momentarily backlash arises after the release of his brand new music video for ‘Bound 2’ the tenth and concluding track of Yeezus. The music video starring Kanye’s fiancé, Kim Kardashian, erupted universal banter and even some bewilderment as the video highlights the couple sensually cocooning each other on a motorcycle forefront an obvious animated backdrop scenery.
Fans, critics, television series, and even fellow celebrities are having a field day with the uncanny video as Comedy Central’s ‘South Park’ paid a mocking tribute to the ‘Bound 2’ video alongside many others. Even our favorite Pineapple Express duo, Seth Rogen and James Franco, parodied the rapper’s bizarre video in typical Franco-Rogen style entitling their version of the music video ‘Bound 3.’
Now, if you recall the last person to contribute a spoof of Kanye West to the public, it didn’t go over so well. Late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel, and star of Jimmy Kimmel Live, exposed his own satire of Yeezy’s BBC Interview back in September. Kanye was not very thrilled with Kimmel’s spoof (shocker!) and the rapper delivered an entirely expected blockbuster rant directed towards Kimmel via twitter. The two publically settled their dispute in October when they made peace with each other during an episode of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Surprise! Kanye actually CAN take a joke according to Kim Kardashian, who tweeted at Rogen exclaiming that Kanye laughed so hard at the ‘Bound 3’ parody and loves both Rogen and Franco.
Although a critically acclaimed asshole, Kanye’s Yeezus tour is killing the game and assembling a high moral in his colossal fan base and ‘Bound 2’ is collecting attention everywhere. But if you still recognize the hip-hop star as an ignorant fool, respite comfortably. He couldn’t careless, because in his mind, when all is said and done, he is still ‘a god.’
