On February 25, SGP Music and Entertainment will bring one of hip-hop’s brightest rising stars, Kendrick Lamar, for a full set at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

Lamar, who is currently on tour in support for his latest album good kid, m.A.A.d city, will hit the UF campus in honor of National Black History Month. Fans can enjoy a two-hour set from the platinum-selling California rapper, who will cover old and new favorites from his critically acclaimed mixtapes and albums.

Doors are at 7 PM and the show begins at 8 PM. Tickets are on sale now at the UF Box Office and online at ticketmaster.com. For UF Student, tickets are $20 for floor and level 1, and $10 for level 2 and 3. The general public can purchase tickets at $25 for floor and level 1, $15 for level 2 and 3.

Gators can continue to celebrate BHM on February 27 with a very special appearance by Pultizer-winning poet, artist and cultural icon Maya Angelou. Angelou will speak at the Phillips Center for Performing Arts, and the free show is sponsored by ACCENT Speakers Bureau.

Spring 2013 is shaping up to be another impressive semester of events at the University of Florida. Planning on checking out either of these events? Want to be a famous photographer for a day? Tweet @GNVScene your best photos of the concert and your masterpiece could show up here.
