Get the Scoop on Visonary Crossfit’s First Artists and Makers Bazaar
The season is upon us and if you haven’t already finished your local holiday shopping, the Artists and Makers Bazaar has you covered. Hosted at Visionary CrossFit, a gym turned art gallery, the bazaar will feature apparel, gifts, jewelry, paintings, pottery and other forms of artwork available for sale.
Carrie and Jesus Martinez, co-owners of the dynamic Visonary CrossFit space, moved to Gainesville two years ago and have thrived in the interconnected, vibrant local music and art scene. As painter and muralist Carrie expresses:
“[I] have come to find that this community is full of creativity and culture. In the short time I have lived here I have met the most amazing individuals and have formed a bond with numerous artists, many who have shown their work at our space Visionary CrossFit.”
Since moving to Gainesville, Carrie has been brainstorming ways to support local artists in an energetic and unique atmosphere beyond gallery shows.
“I was approached by an artist about doing a holiday market. I had just ordered a bunch of new products including tote bags and pillows with my art, so I thought this would be a great way to sell my work and provide a space for my friends and other artists to sell their art as well,” she explains.
Carrie and Jesus are also advocates for local shopping during the holidays and year round.
